Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Information you provide directly, such as your name, email, and message.
• Basic usage data, such as browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Technical data like IP address and device information for security and analytics.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Respond to inquiries and communicate with you.
• Operate, maintain, and improve our website and products.
• Detect, prevent, and address security or technical issues.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate our business (for example hosting, analytics, or email providers), and when required by law.

Beta lists

When you join a beta list, we collect your email address, which app you signed up for, and anything you choose to write in the note. We send one email to confirm the address, and nothing is added to a list until you click the link in it. After that, we use your address only to invite you to test builds and to send updates about that beta.

Beta lists are kept with our email provider, Resend. Every email we send to a list has an unsubscribe link, which lets you leave one app's list without leaving the others, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by writing to hi@happyorbitlabs.com.

Crankset

Crankset, our bike computer for iPhone, does not collect any information about you. It has no account and no server, and it sends nothing to us or to anyone else.

• Rides and location. Your location is used while a ride is recording, to measure speed, distance and the route. Rides, routes included, are stored on your iPhone and synced through your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access. To keep them on your iPhone only, turn off iCloud for Crankset in your iPhone's iCloud settings.
• Apple Health. If you turn it on, Crankset saves each ride to Apple Health as a cycling workout and reads heart rate from Health to show on your rides. Health data stays in Health on your device. It is never sent to us, and it is not used for advertising or shared with anyone.
• Motion & Fitness. The iPhone's barometer is used to measure how much you climb during a ride. The readings are kept only as part of your rides.
• Exports. A ride leaves the app as a GPX file only when you share it, and goes only where you send it.

Deleting a ride in Crankset deletes it from your iPhone and from your iCloud. Deleting the app removes rides from that iPhone; rides still in iCloud can be removed from your iCloud storage settings.

DVC Cam

DVC Cam, our video camera for iPhone, does not collect any information about you. It has no account and no server, and it makes no network requests at all.

• Camera and microphone. The camera and microphone feed is used on your iPhone to draw the viewfinder and to record. It is never sent anywhere, and nothing is kept beyond the recording you make.
• Your recordings. A take is written to the app's own storage and then saved to your Photos library. It goes nowhere else, and it leaves your iPhone only when you share it yourself.
• Effects and presets. The effect settings and any presets you save are stored on your iPhone. There is no account to sync them to.

Deleting the app removes its settings and presets from that iPhone. Recordings you already saved stay in your Photos library, where you can delete them yourself.

Noat

Noat, our Markdown editor for the Mac, does not collect any information about you. It has no account and no server, and it cannot make network requests at all: the app is sandboxed without the network entitlement that would allow one.

• Your notes. Noat reads and writes the plain .md file you opened, in place, wherever you keep it. It has no library and no storage of its own, so your text is never copied anywhere else.
• Recent files. The files you have opened are remembered on your Mac, as bookmarks, so they reopen after a relaunch. File › Open Recent › Clear Menu removes them.
• Settings. Your theme, font and editor preferences are stored on your Mac. There is no account to sync them to.
• Exports and links. A PDF, HTML file or .docx is written only when you export, and only where you choose to save it. Command-clicking a web link in a note hands the address to your own browser; nothing is fetched inside the app.

Deleting the app removes its settings and its list of recent files from that Mac. Your .md files are yours and stay where they are.

Data retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of your personal information. To make a request, contact us at hi@happyorbitlabs.com.

Third-party links

Our website may include links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Children's privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date.
